The Bearcat track and field squads competed at the Vernon Kennedy Classic in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Josh Warner took fifth place in the men’s discus with a throw of 49.48m (162-4.0). Dakota Schmidt won the javelin with his mark of 62.55m (205-2.75).
Addison Barrow took seventh place in the hammer throw in 43.05m (141-3.0) while Quinn Weakley was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 12.17m (39-11.25). Josie Zeiger won the women’s javelin with a mark of 39.71m (130-3.50).
Jada Shanklin and Lauryn Hill went 1-2 in the women’s high jump. Shanklin jumped 1.67m (5-5.75), narrowly missing a provisional mark, while Hill jumped 1.62m (5-3.75). Blake Morgan was second place in the men’s high jump with a jump of 2.05m (6-8.75) while Jonathan Carter was fourth with 1.97m (6-5.50).
Randi Overkamp and Kyah Luhring were third and fourth in the women’s long jump. Overkamp jumped 5.37m (17-7.50) while Luhring jumped 5.33m (17-6.00). Luhring was also second in the women’s 100m dash (:12.31).
Ian Richmond was third in the men’s pole vault with a mark of 4.63m (15-2.25).
Sarah Prickett was third in the women’s 100m hurdles (:15.21) while Ally Hammond was fourth (:15.44). Olivia Sattlefield took second in the 400m hurdles in 1:05.42 while Alexis Whitaker was sixth (1:09.98).
Jevaughn Stanley was fourth in men’s 100m dash in 10.81 seconds. In the 400m dash, Caelon Harkey was the champion (:47.89), Federico Crisci was second (:48.97), Abdelrahim Mahgoub was fifth (:49.41), and Raheem Williams was sixth (:49.46). Harkey also took second in the 200m in 21.49 seconds.
Alyna Thibault won the women’s 1,500m run in 4:52.22 while the women’s 4x100m relay team took gold in 48.38 seconds.
Delanie Dykes won the women’s 800m run with a new school record and provisional qualifying time (2:11.34) while Bailey Blake took second in 2:12.55. Dykes’ time is currently 14th in Division II and first in the MIAA.
Corbin Smith was third in the men’s 400m hurdles in 55.77 seconds while Cliff Nichols won the 800m run in 1:55.57.
Tiffany Hughey and Overkamp were third and fourth in the women’s 200m dash. Hughey finished in 25.07 seconds while Overkamp finished in 25.28 seconds.
Emily Saalfeld finished second in the women’s 3,000m run in 10:56.71 while Tori Castle was fifth in 11:28.07 and Corrina Dittmer was seventh in 12:08.82.
The Bearcats will compete at the MIAA Outdoor Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas next weekend, May 8-9.
