Northwest Missouri State University freshman Martin Sanchez has been named the MIAA’s men’s tennis co-athlete of the week.
Sanchez picked up a pair of victories in leading Northwest to a 7-0 win at William Jewell to begin the spring season.
Sanchez scored a 6-3, 6-3 win over WJC’s Cory Conley.
Sanchez paired up with Agustin Velasco at No. 3 doubles and picked up a 6-3 victory over WJC’s Jack Ledbetter and Nick Shields.
“Martin has come a long way,” head coach Mark Rosewell said. “He really performed well on Saturday in picking up a pair of wins.”
