Campbell On Bobby Dodd Trophy Watch List

ATLANTA, Ga. – Iowa State head football coach Matt Campbell is one of 19 coaches on the Bobby Dodd Trophy midseason watch list, given annually to the nation’s best football coach.

Campbell, now in his fifth season as the Cyclone leader, has Iowa State on top of the Big 12 standings at 5-1 with a No. 17 national ranking.

Behind Campbell’s leadership, Iowa State has secured a fourth-straight winning season in conference play and is 5-1 in league play for the first time in school history.

Iowa State has appeared in the AP poll a school-record nine times this season. Campbell’s crew beat Oklahoma in Ames for the first time in 60 years while recording their seventh win over ranked opponent since 2017.

Since 2017, Iowa State’s 21 Big 12 wins is the most in the league during that span.
