WASHINGTON – Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) will join Vice President Mike Pence Friday, May 7 on Air Force Two from Washington, D.C., to Des Moines, Iowa. The officials will participate in a discussion with faith leaders from around the state and then visit Hy-Vee headquarters for a roundtable discussion with agriculture and food supply leaders.
“I’m glad to welcome Vice President Pence to Iowa. There’s much work to be done and the pandemic is disrupting all of our communities. I look forward to discussing ongoing issues affecting producers and our food supply chain in Iowa and throughout the country. It’s important to hear directly from those who help feed the nation and the world,” Grassley said.
“I look forward to having Vice President Pence back in Iowa and participating in these important discussions about how we’re working to protect the health and safety of Iowa’s families and communities while getting our state back on its feet. From our federal partners to our state and local leaders across Iowa, we continue to take an all-hands-on-deck approach to tackling this pandemic. Together, we will get through this,” Ernst said.
