Northwest’s Ahren’s Earns Third MIAA Volleyball Specialist Of The Week Honor

For the third time this season Northwest Missouri State volleyball junior setter Maddy Ahrens has been honored as the MIAA Specialist of the Week.

Ahrens (Appleton, Wisconsin) guided the Bearcats to a pair of road league victories at Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern. Ahrens averaged 12.57 assists per set and 2.71 digs per set in leading Northwest to a pair of league wins improving the squad to 4-0 in MIAA play. Ahrens posted 51 assists and 17 digs to along with two kills in a four-set win at Pittsburg State. It was her fifth double-double of the season. Ahrens added 37 assists, one kill, one block and a service ace in a three-set triumph at Missouri Southern.

Northwest will be back at home in Bearcat Arena this weekend with a pair of matches. Northwest will play host to Fort Hays State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday at 3 p.m.
