26 year old Jay Painter was arrested by St Joseph Police Wednesday after he allegedly rammed a police car. Painter was charged with illegal possession of a rifle. The incident happened near the 800 block of S 20th Street. Buchanan County authorities also assisted. He fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later. Painter has a history of drug possession, tampering with a motor vehicle and failure to pay child support. He is currently on parole.
