The Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat women’s golf team moved up the leaderboard in the final round of the 21st Annual NSU Golf Classic on Tuesday at the Cherokee Springs Golf Course in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Northwest shot its best score of the fall season with a tally of 312. The Bearcats 19-shot improvement from day one pushed them up to eighth in the final team standings.
Bekah Donner and Morgan Thiele had the low rounds for the Bearcats on Tuesday. Donner fired a 76 including three birdies on the round. Her nine-hole splits of 35-41 placed Donner inside the top-20 for the tournament and also moved her up eleven spots on the individual leaderboard. Thiele carded a 77 in the final round with two birdies on the back nine. Thiele’s 36-hole total of 161 placed her individually at T-39.
Spencer Roach overcame a difficult round one by parring 13 of the 18 holes on the golf course en route to her 79.
Anna Zech posted a round of 80 for Northwest including two birdies on the round. Lauren Wood carded an 85 putting her 36-hole total at 164 for the tournament.
The Bearcat golfers will now turn their attention to the MIAA Fall Preview on 9/24-9/25 in Axtell, Nebraska.
