Bearcat Golfers Wrap Up First Tourney Of Year In Blue Springs

The Northwest Missouri State University women’s golf team completed the final round of the Central Region Fall Preview on Wednesday at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs.

The Bearcats fired a team score of 325 as a team on day two. Their 36-hole score of 656 placed the Bearcats in a tie for 16th with Arkansas-Monticello. Central Missouri claimed the team title posting a two-day score of 602.

Morgan Thiele and Spencer Roach led the Bearcats on Wednesday both shooting 80 in the final round. The two-day total of 159 placed Thiele (T45) inside the top-50 for the tournament. Roach tied for 59th after her two-round score of 163.

Bekah Donner shot an 82 for the Bearcats. Donner’s four-shot improvement from day one placed her in a tie for 74th.

Mady Acers and Lauren Wood rounded out the scoring for the Bearcats. Wood followed up her 86 with an 83 on Wednesday and Acers shot an 86 for the Bearcats. Their two-day totals of 169 finished them in a tie for 79th.

The Bearcat golfers will be in action next on Sept. 9-10 competing in the NSU Women’s Golf Classic in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
