De Swinney of St Joseph was killed Friday night after crashing his motorcycle in St Joseph. Around 10:00 Swinney lost control on the northbound entrance ramp to I-229 from the Stockyards Expressway. The northbound lanes of I-229 in downtown were closed and reopened around 5:00 Saturday morning.
