–Approved an ordinance to execute a contract with E.L. Crawford Construction, INC of St Joseph for the construction of the Maryville Public Safety Facility Project in an amount not to exceed $3,886,500. Fiscal year 2019 budget includes $4 million for the project, which is estimated to be completed in a year.
–Maryville Parks & Recreation Director Jeff Stubblefield gave an annual budget presentation. Revenues at the end of fiscal year were $1,068,000 with expenditures at $808,000. Total balance was $688,000.
–Stacy Wood was sworn in as the new interim city clerk. She replaces Sheila Smail, who is retiring. Retirement reception for Smail is Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 at the Nodaway County Admin Building.
–Mozingo Lake Recreation Park Coordinator Brandon Cartwright was presented with the city’s first Outstanding Public Service Award for his assistance to open Mozingo to Craig flood victims.
–Council also had a discussion regarding a new short term rental ordinance for the city. A public hearing will be held at the July 8th City Council meeting.
