NCAA Moves 3 Point Line Back To International Line For D1 Next Season

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved moving the 3 point line back to the international distance of 22′ 1.75″ inches, from the current line of 19’9″.  The rule will be effective next season for Division I.  It will go into effect the following 20-21 season for Divisions II & III.

The panel also approved resetting the shot clock to 20 seconds when the offensive team rebounds the ball after it hits the rim.

These were both experimental rules for the 2019 NIT.

Coaches will also be allowed to call live ball timeouts in the last two minutes of the second half & any overtime periods.  Previously coaches weren’t able to call any live ball timeouts.
