Maryville Man Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Suspected Drunk Driver

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to calls of a SUV parked in the wrong direction just north of St. Joseph at an exit north of the interchange between Highway 71 and Interstate 29.

Roger Moe, 52, of St. Joseph fled north on south I-29 in a GMC Acadia when troopers arrived.

Moe reached speeds near 110 mph before hitting a 2009 Jeep Patriot head-on on I-29. The driver of the Jeep, Corey Brueggeman, 21, of Wentzville was taken by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with moderate injuries. The Jeep’s other passenger, Austin Cross, 22, of Maryville was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph by a medical helicopter with serious injuries. Cross was later moved to the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City.

Moe was arrested for driving while intoxicated, 2nd degree assault, driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding.
