The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission last week approved a contract to replace the Platte River Bridge on Route O near Cosby.
The 57-year-old bridge will be replaced at a cost of $1,360,168.84. The new bridge and bridge rail will meet current standards, allowing current weight-limit restrictions to be removed. It will also be wider with two-foot shoulders. The new bridge is expected to be complete and open to travelers in 2019.
