Former Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder recently resigned his federal post, calling it a waste of tax dollars. The Cape Girardeau native was appointed by President Trump last August as an alternative federal co-chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. It did not require Senate confirmation. Kinder says he has no interest in filling the current open Lieutenant Governor’s position after Mike Parson took over for Eric Greitens. Kinder also says he isn’t interested in returning to any other government or political office and plans to seek employment within the private sector of his hometown.
