Clarinda Water Treatment Plant Damaged In Monday’s Storms, Other City Council Notes

During Monday night’s storms, the Clarinda Water Treatment Plant was damaged.  City Manager Gary McClarnon said during Wednesday evening’s City Council meeting part of the membrane of the roof was blown off by high winds.  McClarnon also noted there was a significant amount of water inside the plant.  He says the entire roof will need to be replaced and air conditioning units were damaged.

In other news….Council approved a 3% raise for salaried city employees.

Sherry Timmins will assume duties as Clarinda Economic Development Director July 1st.
