From The Office Of Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice:
36 year old Amanda Rose Morriss of Spencer, Iowa, was sentenced to 2 years in prison for two counts assault in the 4th degree and one count of resisting a lawful stop creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another. On March 27th Morriss drove her SUV at a high rate of speed through a Missouri Department of Transportation work zone in Nodaway County placing multiple workers in apprehension of immediate physical injury forcing them to evade contact by the vehicle. She later fled the scene at speeds in excess of 80 mph and while traveling at such a speed swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic over hills or blind spots on the highway where other vehicles were not able to see what was in their lane.
21 year old James Earl Harding of Trenton, Missouri, was sentenced to 3 years in prison after he was found guilty of stealing over $750 from a local merchant. The prison sentence executed to run concurrently with his prison sentence from Grundy County for a similar offense in that jurisdiction.
