–City Council approved an ordinance to execute a contract with RDG Schutte Wilscam Birge, INC for a community housing study. The paid amount is not to exceed $27,500. The study will provide a detailed analysis of the market and validation for future investment. Nodaway County Economic Development will fund $17,000 of the costs. The last study was conducted in 2001.
–Maryville Parks & Recreation Director Aaron Dobson is resigning effective June 8th. He will be leaving for Texas.
–City Council approved an ordinance authorizing the delivery of certificates of participation, a debt that will finance $6.3 million in proposed capital improvements. The majority of the amount is funding the new police and fire headquarters for the city. The police and fire cost is proposed to be an annual debt of $303,000 over 20 years.
