INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) — Missouri police say a 23-year-old Independence woman was struck by a car and killed Sunday on Interstate 70 when she ran into traffic during an argument.
The Independence Police Department said in a written statement Monday that shortly before 2:30 p.m. officers responded to a verbal disturbance between two people in the parking lot of Children’s Mercy East hospital.
One of the people involved, Tabetha L. Estep, ran onto the eastbound lanes of nearby I-70, where she was struck by a 2014 Dodge Dart.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the vehicle was injured.
