Missouri’s unemployment rate fell to 3.5 percent in October, while total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 1,000 jobs, on a seasonally adjusted basis.
This is the lowest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate since July 2000. In October 2016, the rate was 4.6 percent. For comparison, the national rate in October 2017 was 4.1 percent.
Missouri’s seasonally adjusted rate has been below the comparable national rate for 31 consecutive months.
