–City Council approved an ordinance to execute a contract with JD Bishop Construction, LLC for On-Call Concrete replacement. Each year the city budgets $75,000 for concrete road and sidewalk repairs. There is currently $12,000 left in this year’s budget. The list of streets requiring panel replacements is growing and includes Country Club, Aurora, Chick, Gard, Parkdale, Brentwood, James & Burris.
–Council approved to execute change order #3 with E.L. Crawford Construction, INC for the construction of the Conference Center at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park. The proposed change is an increase in the contract for just under $42,000 ($41,976). Total project cost over 4.7 million ($4,768,507).
–City Council also layed out specific strategic goals for the 2018 Fiscal Year: 1) Implement South Main Street Improvements, Phase I, 2) Maintain & Improve the City’s Infrastructure, 3) Facilitate the construction of a New Maryville Public Safety Facility. 4) Establish the Conference Center at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park as a Community & Regional Asset.
–Visu-Sewer is in town to clean and visually inspect all sewer mains as part of the 2017 Sewer Main Lining Project. Lining should commence in September. Nearly 2.5 linear miles will be lined to reduce inflow and infiltration of storm water into the sanitary sewer system.
