Clarinda High School Principal Teresa Nook has resigned as principal at the school after 8 years. Her resignation was accepted by the Clarinda School Board during its meeting last night. Nook stated in her letter of resignation she would be willing to work through December 22nd if that could help in the transition process of filling her position.
Superintendent Deron Stender suggested immediately starting the hiring process or moving a current administrator to the job.
The board expressed concerns of not having enough time to fill the position given the lateness of the calendar and voted to have current Assistant Principal & Activities Director Josh Porter and Stender serve as interim adminstrators for the 17-18 school year.
Stender gave another option of starting the hiring process in early 2018 and then have a new prinicpal placed by July 1st of next year.
