Northwest QB Kyle Zimmerman was given the Ken B Jones Award last night at the MIAA Hall of Fame Banquet last night in Kansas City. In addition to being a a two-time National Champion, Zimmerman was also named the Kansas City Sports Commissioner Sportsman of the Year. He won MIAA Offensive Player of the Year also earned first team All-MIAA honors. Zimmerman was a named a second team All-American by three different publications following the 2016 season. He led his team to a 15-0 record this season going 299 of 441 passing for 3,763 yards and 37 touchdowns.
Former Northwest MBB Head Coach Steve Tappmeyer and football player Aaron Becker were also formally inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame during last night’s program.
