Nodaway County Has Highest Poverty Rate In Northwest Missouri

Information gathered by the Missouri Community Action Network reveals Nodaway County has the largest poverty rate of any county in northwest Missouri.  The rate is 22.9%.  That equals 1 in 5. Adjacent counties include Atchison at 13%, Worth at 15.9%, Gentry at 14.9%, Holt at 13.7% and Andrew at 9.5%.  The factors in poverty include education, housing and energy, food, family & economic security and health.  You can find a link to the story here: http://www.communityaction.org/
