During his weekly radio address, State Senator Dan Hegeman of Cosby spoke about his work on the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee. He says the Missouri General Assembly will have to decrease spending for Fiscal Year 2018. He hopes public education, including K-12 and higher education, will still be a priority, despite having to cut 300 million from the budget.
Hegeman notes in some ways, not having enough revenues can be helpful.
Hegeman says Missouri’s Constitution requires the budget to be balanced each year.
